Unveiling the new Public Artwork in collaboration with artist Stuart Green at Fuzhou Vanke Lanyue Garden in Paiwei, Taizhou district, Fuzhou city.
The sculpture forms a visual focus to the development entrance, creating a landmark for the site and surrounding areas. The artist brief was to represent the spirit of the project and Fuzhou cultural heritage whilst creating an interactive sculpture encouraging people to walk through, explore and photograph, as well as creating a unique sense of place and a popular gathering place for visitors.
The Butterfly Droplet concept is made up of 70,355 stainless steel Butterflies welded and wrapped around a mild steel CHS sub structure, with integrated lighting. Our creative studio developed the strategy, curated the artist, resolved the design and implemented the public artwork which is 1 of 3 sculptural pieces across the precinct.
With over twenty five years’ experience creating artworks for the public realm, Stuart Green’s portfolio includes architectural facade treatments, monumental stand-alone artworks and smaller scale intimate interpretive pieces. His work can be seen in the Australian cities of Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra, and internationally in Abu Dhabi. He has a keen interest in the changing phenomena of the natural world around him and this is often a key driver for his more outwardly abstract works. Pattern, rhythm and sculptural mass often weave together in the artworks, with each having an underlying reference back to natural distributions, forms and energies.
