Our latest public art collaboration with artist Andrew Rogers.

Andrew Rogers is a distinguished and internationally recognised contemporary artist whose practice encompasses sculpture and large scale land art.

The sculpture is an amazing example of the juxtaposition of a highly polished, soft and delicate interior, contrasted by a ribbed and rippling outer surface. ‘I am’ is intended to provide an opportunity for closer reflection of the connections between human form and organic shape. Cast in bronze and fabricated and finished by our expert team, we worked closely with the artist to ensure that the outcome was world class.

“I Am” is a delicately balanced form, tightly curled and then unfurling as it extends upwards and outward in a continuously rippling spiral shape to reveal a warm glowing interior. Andrew Rogers has worked his material with a combination of force and grace to produce a powerful and organic form. Rogers says, “We are all individuals possessing the sanctity of a singular life and the ability to express ourselves. At the same time, we are part of the society within which we live”.

“I Am” is a metaphor for that relationship with the organic rippling and pulsating, ribbed and undulating outer surface acting as a counterpoint to the delicate, highly polished interior world of our thoughts. This individual figurative form is to remind us that it is the individual that makes our world a place of justice and compassion.
