This artwork will become a beacon for MixC Shantou city. The design activates the public realm across both the day-time and night-time, with the form pulsing with energy. During the day, the design is dynamic and captivating and at night, the entire public realm is activated through lights, engulfing the plaza.
The sculpture uses 316 stainless steel, which is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and has excellent performance in high temperature environments. After undergoing 2 digital hydraulic treatments and 6 polishing processes, 2266 small fish of various shapes have been carefully crafted by 15 craftsmen for 1,100 hours. Measuring just under 5m tall, the fish float at the lower tier and merge into the final artwork at the crescendo.
Our specialist team developed the artwork from concept through to implementation, which was delivered before the National Day, providing a centrepiece for CRLAND Shantou at MixC Shantou city.
